Terms & Acceptable Use

This document defines the terms of service, acceptable use policy, and data protection compliance for the
ClonevoxApp platform. By using our services, you agree to these terms. Violations may result in immediate account
suspension, termination, legal action, and/or reporting to law enforcement authorities.
1. Permitted Uses
- Creating voice replicas of your own voice for personal or professional use
- Creating voice replicas of consenting individuals (e.g., voice actors, narrators) for
authorised commercial use
- Text-to-speech content production: audiobooks, podcasts, videos, educational content, product demos
- Accessibility applications: assistive technology for persons with speech or hearing impairments
- Language learning applications
- Customer service automation with disclosed AI voice
- Creative and entertainment applications where AI voice is disclosed
- Research and development in AI/ML fields (subject to research account approval)
2. Absolute Prohibitions (Zero Tolerance)
⚠ The following uses will result in immediate, permanent account termination and will be reported to law
enforcement and relevant regulatory authorities without prior notice.
- Creating or distributing synthetic voice content to deceive listeners into believing it originates from a real
person ("voice deepfakes") without their consent
- Political disinformation: generating fake statements attributed to political candidates,
elected officials, government representatives, or political parties
- Election interference: creating audio content designed to influence elections through
deception
- Financial fraud: voice synthesis for bank fraud, investment fraud, insurance fraud, identity
theft, or any other financial crime
- Impersonating law enforcement, government officials, emergency services (e.g., 112
operators), military personnel
- Non-consensual intimate content: creating sexual or intimate audio content featuring a real
person without their explicit consent
- Content targeting minors: any audio content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors
- Terrorism, violent extremism, or incitement to violence
- Cloning voices of deceased individuals without estate authorisation
- Creating content that constitutes criminal harassment, stalking, or intimidation
3. Conditional Prohibitions (Require Prior Written Approval)
The following uses require explicit written approval from ClonevoxApp before proceeding:
- News media applications: generating news-format audio content using synthetic voices
- Impersonating any real, named individual (even with their consent) for commercial purposes
- Medical or mental health applications where voice output could affect patient decisions
- Legal proceedings: generating audio evidence for use in court
- Children's content: any application designed for users under 13
4. Disclosure Requirements
All AI-generated audio produced using ClonevoxApp must adhere to the following disclosure requirements:
- Public-facing content must disclose that the voice is AI-generated — "This content uses AI-synthesised
voice"
- Disclosure must be clear, conspicuous, and not hidden in fine print
- API users building applications must ensure their end-user interfaces include appropriate disclosures
- Broadcasting or publishing synthetic voice content as real human speech without disclosure is
prohibited
ClonevoxApp automatically embeds a non-audible watermark in all generated audio. Removing,
obscuring, or attempting to defeat this watermark is prohibited.
5. Platform Security
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Attempting to bypass rate limits, quotas, or access controls
- Attempting to extract or reverse-engineer our AI models
- Using automated tools to scrape the platform beyond authorised API use
- Introducing malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Denial-of-service attacks or deliberate resource exhaustion
- Testing security vulnerabilities without authorisation (responsible disclosure: [email protected])
6. Enforcement & Reporting
We enforce this policy through:
- Automated detection: AI-based content monitoring for policy violations
- User reports: Any person may report misuse to [email protected]
- Proactive monitoring: Random audits of content generated on our platform
- Law enforcement cooperation: We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations of misuse

7. DPDP Act 2023 Compliance
ClonevoxApp is committed to complying with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP
Act). This section outlines our obligations and your rights under Indian law.
Our Status
- Data Fiduciary: ClonevoxApp determines the purpose and means of processing your personal data
- Significant Data Fiduciary (SDF): If our user base exceeds thresholds specified by the
Central Government, we will comply with SDF-specific obligations including Data Protection Impact Assessments
and periodic audits
- Data Processor: Certain cloud and payment vendors process your data on our behalf under
contractual obligations
Consent Framework
Under Section 6 of the DPDP Act, we obtain your consent:
- In clear, plain language in English and Hindi (with additional Indian languages planned)
- Separately from other terms and conditions
- With a clear option to withdraw consent at any time
- With a record of all consents maintained in our database
Cross-Border Data Transfers
Under Section 16 of the DPDP Act, personal data may be transferred to countries/regions notified by the Central
Government. Until such notification, we operate under the IT Act and contractual safeguards for transfers.
Grievance Redressal
Under Section 13 of the DPDP Act, you have the right to file a grievance with our Grievance Officer:

8. India's IT Act, 2000 & Amendments
- Section 43A: We maintain reasonable security practices (IS/ISO 27001 aligned) for sensitive
personal data
- Section 66: Misuse of our platform for computer-related offences is prohibited and will be
reported
- Section 66C: Identity theft using synthesised voice is a criminal offence under Indian law —
we cooperate fully with law enforcement
- Section 66D: Impersonation using our platform is prohibited and constitutes an offence under
this section
- Section 69: We comply with lawful government interception and data decryption orders
- CERT-In Directions 2022: Security incidents are reported within 6 hours; logs retained for
180 days
9. GDPR Compliance (European Union)
ClonevoxApp respects the rights of users in the European Economic Area under the General Data Protection
Regulation (GDPR).
- Lawful basis: We process personal data based on consent (Article 6(1)(a)) and legitimate
interest where applicable
- Data subject rights: You may exercise your right to access, rectification, erasure,
restriction, portability, and objection by contacting [email protected]
- Cross-border transfers: All transfers of personal data outside the EEA are protected by
Standard Contractual Clauses (Commission Implementing Decision 2021/914)
- Data Protection Impact Assessment: We conduct DPIAs for high-risk processing activities,
particularly voice cloning (biometric data processing), reviewed annually
- EU Representative: If required by Article 27, we will appoint an EU Representative before
processing EU personal data at scale. Contact us for current representative details
- Breach notification: Data breaches affecting EU users are reported to the relevant
supervisory authority within 72 hours as required by Article 33
Enterprise customers may request our Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and SCC package.
10. CCPA Compliance (California, United States)
ClonevoxApp complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California
Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) for California residents.
- Right to know: You may request details about the personal information we collect, use, and
disclose
- Right to delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, including voice
samples
- Right to opt-out: We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for
cross-context behavioural advertising
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA
rights
- Biometric data: Voice prints are treated as sensitive personal information. We obtain
explicit consent before collection and provide clear retention and destruction policies
